Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Do your prices include V.A.T. and what about delivery charges?

All prices include VAT. MOST prices also include delivery. However where items are very large or heavy or in certain postcode areas there may be additional charges levied.

  2. Are your products covered by a guarantee?

All products are fully guaranteed by the manufacturer.

  3. What happens if I have a product delivered but the item is faulty?

Any damaged goods are covered by our guarantee and will be replaced immediately.

  4. Do you only sell what you advertise on this site?

No. We have access to most products on the market. Please feel free to email or telephone us with your enquiry and we will do our up most to quote you the best price possible. We can do this as our overheads are low.

  5. What are the delivery times?

Between 4/14 days in most cases. Special orders can take some weeks depending on the specification.

  6. Do you have an installation service?

No-Selling online is supply only. However, the Managing Director has been trading from this showroom for twelve years and has a vast knowledge of the fireplace business having surveyed many thousands of homes in that time. Therefore, his experience will help you with any queries. All gas installations must be carried out by a qualified Corgi registered fitter--a list will be found in your local Yellow Pages. A more comprehensive list of registered gas installers can be found on the CORGI website www.corgi-gas.com. You must have your fire installed by a currently qualified CORGI engineer i.e. not someone who was corgi registered but has now retired.

  7. We don't have a flue, what are our options for a gas fire?

If you have a suitable fireplace and a suitable outside wall, there are several options:

    • An outset (glass fronted) fire-for example, Flavel Emberglow Balanced flue.
    • An inset (glass fronted) fire for example, Gazco E-box Balanced flue.
    • A wall mounted balanced flue fire for example, Gazco Linea Designio.
    • Or a "power flue" fire which is a fan assisted open living flame fire, without a glass front for examples see Kinder Kalahari, Brilliant Maximiser, Legend Vantage, Gazco Integral Powered Flue VFC Convector.
    • Flueless fires.

  8. We don't have a flue or a suitable outside wall, what options for a gas fire do we have?

If your room is at least 23m square you can fit a flueless fire (air vent required) or a flueless stove (air vent required) if your room is at least 40m square, for example, see Burley, Esse, Acquisitions. Flueless fires work by using a catalytic converter to convert the carbon monoxide into harmless carbon dioxide and water vapor. This technology has been in the USA & Canada for many years. Flueless fires are classed as 100% efficient as in all the gas going into the fire comes back out to heat the room.

  9. We have a precast/Class2flue, what gas fires can we have?

If you have a suitable fireplace with a suitable opening (22x16) you will probably be able to have an outset fire (eg Flavel Emberglow) or a slimline open living flame (e.g. Kinder Nevada, Legend Spirit Superslim). However if you can create enough depth i.e. a mantle with a 3" rebate then you should be able to fit a deeper fire (e.g. Brilliant Innovation, Legend Spirit, Kinder Kalahari or Camber). Gazco Logic is also a deep class 2 fire.

YOU MUST CHECK WITH INSTALLER FOR SUITABILITY FOR ANY FIRE.

PLEASE NOTE - Many precast flues (mainly built in the 70's +80's) will need their flue "updating" to comply with current regulations. A new flue terminal may be required and a new starter block. Advice:- Consult with specialist!

  10. I need a hot fire, what do you recommend?

CLASS 1 FLUE: Examples of hot open fronted fires are Kinder Oasis 4.1KW Convector, Brilliant Advantage 3.9KW,  Legend Vantage 3.9KW, or Gazco Logic Convector 4KW.  There are currently new hot high efficiency fires with glass fronts e.g. many in the Gazco range.

CLASS 2 FLUE: Kinder Kalahari 3.3KW, Kinder Camber 3.3KW, Legend Spirit 3.5KW,  Brilliant Innovation (slimline) 3.3KW,  .Gazco Logic 4.1KW Convector fire. :-Sufficient depth is required with these fires!

  11. How can you sell so cheap, are any of your products seconds ?

We are able to sell cheap because we are major stockists and deal direct with the best manufacturers in the country. WE BULK BUY and are then able to sell the best products at the lowest prices in the U.K.

  12. What is a convector fire and do I need one ?

A convector fire is a fire which not only gives out radiant heat but also convected heat. It is also more efficient. Any fire should be a back-up to central heating. Therefore, for maximum heat we recommend a convector fire.

  13. I have a class one flue, do I need a flue liner?

Some glass-fronted fires and most gas stoves require a new flue liner fitting. Also, if you have an old chimney you may need one. It is a CONDITION from manufacturers to have your chimney swept prior to a gas fire being fitted.

ADVICE: Have your chimney swept and tested by a local chimney sweep (they should be Corgi Registered) then you will know what state your flue is in.

FOOTNOTE: A flue liner has a life span of 8/10 years so when a new fire is installed a new liner is required.

  14. Do you sell any spares or accessories?

Sorry, we do not. Call the relevant manufacturer directly, they can usually help.
